We hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and are refreshed and ready for a busy term ahead! It’s SHOW TERM!
THANK YOU
A huge thank you to everyone who bought, donated and ate cakes at last term’s cake sale! We
raised £141! The running total from all fundraising events to date is £300. Watch out for more
events this term.
SPRING TERM BREAKDOWN
Last term was a busy term for many of our students, it began in January with AAD students
performing in Alnwick Theatre Club’s Pantomime- Aladdin. The girls were once again a credit to
AAD with their professionalism, enthusiasm and performed brilliantly every night. Thank you to
parents and guardians for getting the girls to rehearsals and performances.
February saw our senior students performing in DCHS’s Musical- Disco Inferno. Well done to all
involved, it was fantastic. It’s always a joy to see the students using their dance training outside of
AAD.
In March, a number of AAD students performed in the ASMS production of Joseph and The Amazing
Technicolour Dreamcoat. Well done to you all, a fab show!Billy Elliot The Musical is returning to the stage later this year and our very own Tom had the exciting opportunity to attend the North East auditions for the role of Billy. Although unsuccessful this time, he had a great day and enjoyed the experience. Tom will continue with the Royal Ballet School’s Junior Associate programme next term, keep up the good work Tom, well done.
Congratulations to 3 of our senior students who have successfully auditioned for full time training
courses starting in September. Jemima and Kitty will both be heading to The Hammond and Sophie
will be going to LIPA, all to continue their studies in performing arts.
Thank you to everyone who attended the singing auditions with David Brewis-Scott in preparation
for Musical Mania. It was great to see the students showing interest in another discipline and for
some, pushing themselves out of their comfort zone. The 8 successful auditionees will be taking to
the stage in Musical Mania.
EXAM SUCCESS
Congratulations to everyone who took their ISTD Tap and Modern exams last term, an excellent set
of results with all students achieving Merit and Distinction grades. Well done, we are so proud of all your hard work and dedication.

CLASS TERMINATION POLICY:
The date for this term is SATURDAY 23rd MAY
Notification to terminate any class with us, Pre-Primary level and above, is required at the half
term. This is to allow us sufficient time to adjust the timetable for the following term, should any
class no longer be viable due to low numbers. Hall hire and staff hours are booked and arranged
before the start of each term, therefore any sudden cancellation of a student's classes has a
financial impact on all concerned.
UNIFORM
Could we take this opportunity to remind you all to check the uniform requirements for your child’s
classes and ensure they have the correct uniform for each class they attend. Warm Up Tops and
Cardigans are available.
Hair must be neat, tidy and appropriate for all classes. For all students in Grade 3 Ballet and
above, a classical bun is compulsory.
